Mallorca continued their fine start to the season with a comfortable win over Valladolid at Son Moix.
Mallorca moved into the Primera Division top four after five rounds of the championship.
Gregorio Manzano's side are perennial slow-starters, but began this season in impressive fashion as they won two and drew the other of their first three matches.
A 2-0 defeat at Sevilla followed in midweek, but the islanders responded with aplomb in this match as they th! rashed a sorry Valladolid outfit.
Nunes put the home side into the lead after just three minutes and they never looked back after that, comfortably claiming the points following further goals from Aritz Aduriz and Borja Valero in three second-half minutes.
Valladolid came into this match without their two first-choice centre-backs after both were sent off in Wednesday night's miserable 2-1 defeat at home to Osasuna.
And Mallorca wasted no time in exploiting the absence of Luis Prieto and Cesar Arzo as they quickly took the lead after just three minutes of play.
Julio Alvarez launched a hopeful free-kick into the box and after the Valladolid defence failed to clear the danger, Nunes found his way through the melee to fire the opener from close-range and give the home side the perfect start.
It was just the reaction Manzano would have hoped for.
The veteran coach had said before the game that his side were obliged to beat Valladolid.
And they almost went two up after 19 minutes, when Adur! iz was d enied by Nivaldo just when he was ready to pull the trigger and smash home a second.
Six minutes later, Nivaldo failed to clear and the ball fell to Victor, but the Mallorca striker was off target with his lobbed effort and should have done better.
Following a lull in proceedings in the rest of the first period, Mallorca continued to dominate after the break.
Aduriz saw his fierce effort pushed wide by Jacobo Sanz and Victor blasted over as the hosts sought a second goal.
And it finally arrived with 20 minutes left.
Mario Suarez's neat through-ball left Aduriz one on one with Jacobo and the Basque striker kept his cool to fire under the Valladolid keeper and virtually wrap up the points for Mallorca.
Any doubts the home side had of winning all three points were banished three minutes later, when Valero ended a quick counter-attack with a routine finish.
A minute earlier, Valladolid had missed a great chance to pull a goal back! as Marquitos mis-hit a shot from close-range and Nunes hacked the ball off the line.
The visitors were left to rue that miss, but there was no way back and while Mallorca sit loftily perched in fourth place, Valladolid are currently fifth from bottom.
