Diamond Eagles won the one-over eliminator against Sussex Sharks after bot the sides failed to reach a result in the given time.
Piyush Chawla succeeded in getting the first wicket for Sussex as he sent Adrian McLaren packing.
The Indian accounted for the second one too in Morne van Wyk, Ed Joyce coming good with the catch.
Rory Hamilton-Brown then dismissed Boeta Dippenaar.
Cornelius de Villiers drew the first blood for Eagles by knocking off Luke Wright's off-stump.
Dillon du Preez followed with showing Chris Nash the way back, Victor Mpitsang making no mistake with the catch.
The third shock also came quickly. De Villiers caught Rory Hamilton-Brown off his own bowling to spell further trouble.
Mpitsang bowled a beauty to sent Dwayne Smith packing. Ryan Bailey then accounted for Michael Yardy.
Ed Joyce lost his wicket to a run-out. Joe Gatting was caught by Ryan McLaren off Dillon du Preez to claim the seventh one.
Sussex Sharks and Diamond Eagles will hurl th! emselves at each other's throat for a win that would prise ope! n the Su per Eight door.
Both throughly outplayed in their respective Group B openers against a markedly superior New South Wales, it is fairly an uncomlpicated situation where the winners would breeze into Super Eight and the losers catch an early home-bound flight.
The Eagles, under Boeta Dippenaar, would have to pull up their socks if they are to extend their stay in the high-profile tournament.
Dippenaar was critical of the Ferozeshah Kotla track's uneven bounce but the fact is, it remains same for all the sides and there would be no place for similar excuse today.
On a tricky pitch, Eagles bowlers did not really set alight the tournament even though they restricted NSW to a mdoest 144 for six. Among their bowlers, Victor Mpitsang impressed against NSW, as did Shadly van Schalkwyk and today they would have to put up an improved show.
