Let's see, Clay Bennett paid the Sonics $75 million to move to Oklahoma City.
It's sad to see 41 years of Seattle Sonics, and then they move to this Oklahoma place. Though, the team colors and that stuff will be staying in Seattle. So it looks like it's not the Sonics anymore.
The co-founder of "Save Our Sonics", Steven Pyeatt said, "In a perfect world I would have liked to see Clay Bennett leave, without the team at all."
Sounds good. But the Seattle Sonics will probably be back by 2013. Bennett gave them an additional $45 million, and he said he would give them another $30 million if they don't grab a franchise. Seattle is t! rying to renovate the Key Arena, and NBA commissioner David Stern said it would take about $300 million to do it. Sounds OK to me.
Right Back 'atcha
The Warriors, who lost star Baron Davis to the Clippers, offered Clippers F Elton Brand a 5-year, $100 million deal. Ouch. Like I said, to get a great player, you might have to give up a great player.
